Course Description
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science was established in the academic year 2020-2021 with an intake of 60 seats. The B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is a four-year full-time undergraduate program. It is recognized as an emerging field in engineering and technology worldwide, listed in the AICTE's Model Curriculum of Courses at UG Level in Emerging and Thrust Areas. The department boasts dedicated, qualified, and experienced faculty members specialized in various fields. Research activities are promoted, evidenced by numerous research papers published in refereed journals.
In addition to classroom lectures, students undergo laboratory exercises to acquire practical skills and computing capability. The department is equipped with two well-equipped laboratories. Artificial intelligence finds applications in various fields such as medical diagnosis, robotics, stock trading, and scientific discovery. It encompasses learning, reasoning, and self-correction processes. AI is expected to create economic value through new goods, services, and innovations.
The curriculum focuses on areas like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, Data Science, Data Mining, and Data Modeling. Students gain professional skills in AI&DS and mathematical modeling. Upon completion, they have career opportunities in healthcare, business, e-commerce, climatology, genetics, and more. The program aims to prepare students as intelligent data analysts, emphasizing experiential and project-based learning, industry internships, and online learning opportunities through platforms like NPTEL and Spoken Tutorial.
